No stranger DMs by default

Chat opens after a host accepts an application on a plan. Hosts can message pending applicants during review. That keeps coordination tied to a concrete outing instead of an open inbox. Applicants who are not selected do not gain a free messaging channel. The goal is courage without cold approach: you still meet new people, but messaging follows commitment to the same plan. Host as curator

The person who posts the plan chooses who joins. Caps stay small so groups remain comfortable. Time, venue, cost, and setting are visible before you commit. Gender can matter for comfort on specific plans and can inform eligibility and host review filters, but Along never frames matching as dating - see platonic, not dating. Hosts cannot treat Along as an unlimited open event board; acceptance is the gate. If a city feed is empty, creating the first plan is the intended path - not a waitlist that hides real-world responsibility.

Meetup confirmation and ratings

After a plan, participants can confirm they met. Ratings unlock around real meetups so feedback stays tied to experience, not anonymous scores. Confirmation does not expire in a way that traps past plans forever unanswered - participants may still confirm later, and once everyone confirms the plan can move to completed. That accountability loop matters when friendships start offline.

Report and block

Report users or plans from the app. Block tools are available. Our team reviews flagged content through moderation. Adults only (18+).
