This hub lists upcoming Along plans hosted in Dubai. Making friends in Dubai rarely fails because people are unfriendly. It fails because the week fills with work, traffic, and errands before anyone suggests a concrete plan. “We should hang sometime” sounds warm in a group chat and then disappears. Along is built for adults in Dubai who want one genuine local friend through something they already want to do, coffee near Business Bay, a walk on the Corniche, padel in Dubai Marina, a museum afternoon in Al Quoz, not another dating swipe deck.
Dubai is dense with venues and light on low-pressure ways to meet someone new. Expats arrive with a calendar full of onboarding and empty evenings. Long-time residents rebuild circles after a job change, a breakup, or friends moving away. Along keeps the unit of value simple: a plan with a time, a place, and a host who curates who joins. You browse as a guest, apply when you are ready, and chat only after acceptance, so the inbox stays tied to a real outing instead of cold DMs.
This hub lists upcoming Along plans hosted in Dubai. Open a card for details, then Apply on the web or in the app. If the list is quiet, be the first host: posting a walk, a café meet, or a small group activity is how empty cities unlock, there is no waitlist gate for UAE launch cities.
Where Dubai friendships often start
Along plans in Dubai cluster around places people already go: JBR and Kite Beach for outdoor mornings, Downtown and DIFC for weekday lunches, Al Quoz and Dubai Design District for creative afternoons, and Marina or Bluewaters for evening walks. Hosts pick a venue with a name and pin so you know exactly where to show up.
Neighborhoods matter less than clarity. A plan in International City, Jumeirah, or Business Bay works when the time and setting are honest, indoor AC for peak summer heat, outdoor shade after sunset, free or low-cost when that is the point. Along shows cost level, indoor/outdoor, and optional age or gender preferences before you apply, so you are not guessing the vibe from a profile photo alone.
If you are new to Dubai, start with a short plan: coffee, a gallery loop, or a beginner sports session. If you already have a routine, invite someone into it. Hosts stay in control of the guest list; applicants are not an open crowd. That is how friend groups actually form here, someone suggests the activity, then chooses who fits.
How Along works in Dubai
- Discover plans for Dubai on this page or in the Along app. Each card shows the activity category, when it starts, and where it roughly takes place. Tap through for the full description and host context.
- Apply from the web or the app once you have a verified email and a complete profile. Hosts review applicants and accept who joins. Messaging opens after acceptance so you can coordinate without stranger spam.
- Show up, meet in person, confirm the meetup, and leave a rating when it fits. Along is platonic by design, activity-first friendship across the UAE, not a dating product with Dubai branding bolted on.
Dubai FAQ

- No. Along is for adults living in or visiting Dubai who want platonic, plan-based meetups, expats, locals, remote workers, and people between social circles.
- Can I apply to a Dubai plan from the browser?
- Yes. Open the plan page, choose Apply on Along, and finish in the web app. Store badges remain available if you prefer iOS or Android.
- What if there are no Dubai plans right now?
- Create the first one. Empty Discover unlocks through hosts posting outings with a time and place, coffee, a walk, sports, culture, not through a waitlist.
